John Clark is famed for his depictions of “old time Cayman” - an age before telephone wires or paved roads, when Cayman cottages lined sandy streets and life unfolded at a slower pace. John Clark’s paintings feature gingerbread houses, flame trees, bougainvillea and swaying coconut palms as well as people going about their daily life, in an easy, relaxed manner. All of his works capture the exuberance of colours of the Caribbean.
